Oven

Ovens often collect stubborn grease, burnt food and stains that require extra attention.

At Shyne, we use professional cleaning products and the correct techniques to achieve a thorough result while protecting our clients' kitchens.

Important: Oven cleaner is a strong chemical and must only be used with prior approval from your manager.

01 / Equipment Needed

  • Oven cleaner (manager approval required)

  • Cleaning brush

  • Cleaning sponge

  • Blue microfiber cloths

  • Kitchen towels

  • Protective gloves and any additional protective equipment required by the product instructions

  • Protective tray or leakproof container

02 / Prepare & Protect

Protect the kitchen before you begin.

Oven cleaner can permanently damage floors, countertops, cabinets and other surfaces.

Before starting:

  1. Make sure the oven is switched off.

  2. Place a protective tray or leakproof container on a stable surface for removable parts and cleaning equipment.

  3. Use kitchen towels for additional protection around the work area. (Use all the towels you feel necessary)

NEVER place oven racks, trays, or chemical-soaked materials directly on floors or unprotected countertops.

If any chemical spills, follow the product's spill instructions immediately and inform your manager.

03 / How to Clean an Oven

Step 1 – Preheat the Oven (Optional)

To help loosen stubborn grease, you may preheat the oven to 50-60°C for approximately 10 minutes.

Turn it off and allow it to cool for a few minutes before cleaning. Only do this if permitted by the oven manufacturer and oven cleaner instructions.

Step 2 – Remove & Prepare the Oven Parts

Remove all loose parts from the oven, including trays and shelf racks.

  1. Place the parts inside three layers of strong plastic bags.

  2. Place the bags inside a leakproof plastic container or tray, with kitchen towels underneath for additional protection.

  3. Carefully apply oven cleaner to the parts inside the bags, following the product instructions.

  4. Leave the product to work while you clean the oven.

Extremely important: Oven cleaner can permanently damage floors, countertops and cabinets. Plastic bags alone are NOT enough protection, even when using three layers.

Step 3 – Apply Oven Cleaner

Carefully apply the approved oven cleaner to compatible surfaces inside the oven.

Use a sponge or brush to spread the product evenly without creating spills.

Avoid heating elements, fans and electrical components.

Allow the cleaner to work for the time specified on the product label.

Step 4 – Clean the Oven Interior

Use a sponge, brush and cloth to remove grease and stubborn stains.

Make sure to clean:

  • Bottom, back and side walls

  • Top interior

  • Oven door and glass

  • Oven frame

  • Corners and areas behind the shelf racks

Be thorough, but avoid aggressive scrubbing that could damage the surfaces.

Step 5 – Clean the Trays & Shelf Racks

Carefully remove the parts from the bags and clean them individually using a sponge or brush.

Rinse thoroughly according to the product instructions, taking care not to spill chemicals onto the sink surroundings or countertop.

Keep all chemical residue contained and protect the surrounding surfaces throughout the process.

Step 6 – Final Clean & Reassemble

  1. Remove all remaining oven cleaner from the interior according to the product instructions.

  2. Check that the trays and shelf racks are clean and dry.

  3. Place all components back in their correct positions.

  4. Clean the oven exterior, including the door, handle and buttons, using a clean cloth and suitable universal cleaner.

  5. Check the entire oven for grease, stains and cleaning residue.

04 / Attention to Detail

A properly cleaned oven should be free from visible grease, burnt food and cleaning residue.

Pay special attention to the oven door, corners, shelf racks and areas that are easy to overlook.

Never compromise safety or risk damaging a client's property to remove a stubborn stain.

Remember

Protect first. Clean carefully. Check every detail.

If you're unsure about the chemical, surface or cleaning procedure, stop and ask your manager.
